Hello! My name is Kris Young and I’m an experienced Wardrobe Supervisor/Stylist. I love bringing stories and characters to life through wardrobe. I believe styling is about much more than fashion or clothes. When it’s working at it’s best, costume design and styling is giving you information about a character.
I’m equally comfortable coming into projects at an early stage to help establish a visual identity for characters, brands and/or story elements, or coming in close to filming to hit the ground running on nimble projects. I’ve worked on projects where the crew and cast were as large as 100 people or as small as 5. In whatever scenario, the thing my clients often like the most about me is that I can take the entire wardrobe element of a project, own it, run it and collaborate creatively in a way that immediately adds value while also taking this often complex department off the shoulders of the Producer and Director. I’m great at running point, managing up and multitasking under pressure. But most importantly, I’m great at helping to bring a Director’s vision to life because that is where I believe everything begins and ends.
What I love the most about what I do is not only the creative impact that it has on the story and characters, but also how my visual approach impacts the overall audience. I love working with Directors and Producers to help tell stories through the art of costume.
My experience includes feature films, TV, TV commercials, digital and branded content. I’m based locally in Prague. Depending on the specifics of each project and the number of prep and shoot days, I’m often willing to work as a local in other European and USA cities as well. I’m also very open to collaborating in support roles as part of a larger wardrobe team.
Let’s chat!
